Just returned from visiting Yale today, and learned at the info. session that Yale will only be requiring two SAT II tests starting this fall. The info. on the website has not yet been updated regarding applications for the class of 2012.

Omg Yay :)

but does that also mean that the writing portion of the SAT reasoning will be considered as an SAT II? which is kinda unfortunate because I wouldn't have taken writing if i had a choice...

Actually, map, I guess they just updated it :) The website now reads, "Yale requires submission of the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I) and any TWO SAT II Subject Tests..."

I doubt that they're going to consider the writing section of the SAT as a subject test -- or at least, if they do, it won't be different from the last two years. They've already eliminated the SAT II Writing in favor of the writing portion anyway.
