SAT II requirement

I know that hopkins has the new policy of recommends but doesn't require SAT IIs, but i have heard of a lot of schools that say that and actually mean "require".

I don't have time to take the SAT IIs before the ED deadline.
What should I do?
Am I basically weeded out of the application pool? Will my application scream SLACKER?

help.
thanks.

First, Hopkins requires the SAT I or ACT I. They recommend three SAT IIs. Recommend does not mean require. You will not be at a disadvantage if you do not submit SAT II scores.

Second, why can't you take SAT IIs before the ED deadline? You are able to take SAT II exams in November and have those scores submitted in time for ED review.

yeah, i just called them and they said I can do that. But apart from that, Standardized testing is NOT my strong point....but i'm going to do it anyway, thanks for the help.

If not required, what on earth is the reason for taking those laborous tests?

Surely, SAT II's must give an edge to that applicant?
