Sat Ii.... Spanish!

I just wanted to know from the people out there who have taken the SAT II Spanish Test... first of all... how many years of spanish have u had and what level.... what u thought about it..... and then what u got.... i have taken spanish for 5 years, 2 Advanced and 1 AP.... i'm a junior and my college counsellor said i have to take 3.... i can pick from US history, Chem, Math IIC, or Spanish... initially i told her no spanish.. but im having second thoughts...... what do u guys think>???

O ya and on a whole other note... what do u guys think of Math IC and IIC..... i'm in AP AB Calc right now.... should i try for Math IC... or do u think it's a waste of time and money.... i'm probably taking that later in the spring.... but i wanted to know if u guys think it's even worth taking since i've already passed that level up... thanks!

I prefer math iic since i tend to make mistakes and the curve is better for math iic.

For math and spanish, borrow a real sat ii's book (buy if you must but it only has one test per subject) and take the tests! See how you do in math ic vs math iic. Compare and decide which to take.

Four years of spanish up till AP. I got around 720 or so. I'll try to describe it though i took it a year ago. I thought i did worse since i did a lot of guessing, there was much reading! But then again i'm very slow when it comes to taking tests. the curve i believe helped me. My previous knowledge of spanish helped me as well as some practice tests from Kaplan workbook

hm...... i guess this shows how many ppl take Spanish on SaT II's.....

I took two semesters of spanish but they were completely useless. In the first, we didn't learn jack and the second, which I just finished, was just redundant of what I had already learned. After taking Span 1 in freshman year, I self studied up till this year (senior), so about 2 years or so. I didn't study extremely intense but I covered all the verb forms, etc so probably as much as you. The only problem was my vocabulary. I can read short stories pretty well, but just didn't get enough practice reading. I ended up with a 680 which is pretty good for someone with only 2 years of spanish, not to mention that I taught myself. With 5 years, an 800 is very possible. I'd kill myself if I had taken 5 years and couldn't get over a 750. Good Luck. Use Barron's. The tests are difficult as hell, but there are plenty to (over)prepare you for the real exam.
I'd take IIC, and again use Barron's.

Only 25,000 take spanish. Less than 300 are from my homestate (NC). There were a few others that took it in Dec.

So the Spanish SAT II should be okay for me?
