SAT II Subjects?

For higher selectivity colleges, are you "supposed" to take a humanities and language SATII? On their websites, they say "any two are required" Sometimes any 3 are "recommended," but is it ever necessary to take one humanities subject test, one math test, and one science test? I have 2 sciences and one math (level 2). I figured that a 5 on an AP Language test would cover that aspect--since on the Common Application, they ask you to report SAT II tests with AP tests.

People have told me that simply taking another SAT II doesn't really prove too much, and I thought it would be ok to pass up an SAT II Language test since I did well on the AP test. I saved some time and money.

Is this bad? Do I "need" a math, science, and humanities subject test?

Thanks for the help.

You really do not need subject tests in different areas so don’t worry about it! What I experienced was that colleges don’t really care about subject tests as far as you have decent scores on them. For instance, I got into Georgetown with the two Math subject tests (level I and level II) counting as two different tests!
