SAT II tests...

Completely honestly, how much will it hurt my application if my SAT II scores are all mid 700's? I got 5's on all the AP tests and A's in the classes, will this offset the scores? My SAT reasoning is 2310 and ACT 35, and I feel the rest of my application is fairly strong. Will I still have an okay chance of getting in?

you have a good shot. dont worry about it, assuming your essays are good and ecs, and all that good stuff. good luck.

Thank you, and on a related note, is retaking/taking more SAT II’s in January a good idea? Penn’s website says:

“Regular Decision candidates should complete all testing by December of their senior year. First-time testing delayed until January will place the applicant at a disadvantage in our evaluation process. Tests retaken in January will be accepted.”

Since it’s not first-time testing, would I still be at a disadvantage, and would it be worth it to aim for higher scores?

im not completely sure, but i would think it would only put you at a disadvantage if its a first time only because your adcom wouldnt be able be able to make any decisions or judge anything until he/she has some kind of test scores in from of him/her. i think you’ll be okay with retaking. im probably taking a different SAT IIs this january… i already have my required ones in but im just trying to get a good SAT score since i dont have any decent SAT 2 scores. 590 on bio m and 610 on math ic and 790 on korean with listening. but i was born there so it doesnt even really count i dont think…

That makes sense, thank you again, and good luck with your tests and application.

Mid 700’s are good scores. Why is everyone on this site in denial?

I TOTALLY agree with tigerton. Good luck!
