SAT II - the more the better?

So I was just wondering...
Is it better to take a lot of SAT IIs as long as you score 760 or above?
Or is it not worth the effort (just take minimum)?

It's definitely worth it.

I think it's worth it. Colleges like diversity, so if you prove to be great in science and humanities that will work to your advantage.

colleges also like to see that you have better things to do with your saturdays than take all the subject tests.... just my $.02

Anything below 760 is an absolute TRAVESTY, anyone who isn't in the 90+ percentile isn't destined for greatness like we are. Ah, I love my life!~~

yeah

... x<760 = / wrists

If you're gonna take more than 3, I wouldn't settle for less than 800, or, like stephennn said, it looks like you have nothing better to do.

As long as your SAT IIs meet the colleges' requirements and show some amount of breadth while also being in tune with your grades and/or prospective majors, you really don't need to take more than 3. Unless you're homeschooled.

Guys, don't be so harsh. If you want to show diversity in your subjects, then why not? And you don't have to have a 760+. You will not get rejected based on your SAT2s alone.

where does the magical 760 figure come from?
will taking math2+chem+physics+bioM and world history show enough depth?

Agreed. The notion that loading your app with many test scores will help you get into a good college is ridiculous IMO. If you want to show breadth and diversity in your learnings, you can very well do that with just three tests. And the "760" or any number for that matter is not "magical" -- just arbitrary. If you want to contextualize your score, it's good to look at percentiles though: http://www.collegeboard.com/prod_downloads/highered/ra/sat/SAT_subject_tests_percentile_ranks.pdf

Thanks guys,
I've never taken a sat subject test before so i don't really know what's considered a good score? I'm aiming for 800s of course
but i know for mandarin a 790 is a disaster...
