SAT II: U.S. History Discussion May 2009

textile: you could even flip back and see the date on the lowell advertisement :)

stevenboi27, no i think it was town meetings. I remember my teacher emphasized that. And for assemblies later on, I put that they had power but later decreased. Did anyone say that?

For the one with the all of them happened 3 yrs after after stock market crashed except…, did u put decrease in inventories since other nations continued to buy goods from the US during that time so there wouldnt be a decrease in the inventory?

Dagol12,

that’s what I put, yep

No. Other nations stopped buying. There was a global depression.

Actually, maybe I did put that.

stevenboi: overproduction was always a big thing in the era so i put everything BUT “decrease in inven”. Anyone know the exact details?

now that i think about it, i agree with redcatharsis
about the capital investment biznatch

JFK, mccarthy, and nixon thing was anticommunist not ww2 veterans

“It is well documented that McCarthy lied about his war record.”

Are you sure it’s the decorated thing? Yes, he leaves as a Captain, but um…

Weren’t they really all anticommunists too?

Unfortunately, the woman quote was from “Domestic Sphere” and on the subject of women’s education. I looked it up.

@RedCatharsis

-JFK, Nixon, and McCarthy were all anti-communist.
-For the imperialism question: I said we didn’t need more land for an expanding population (this is not why we wanted to be imperialistic at least)
-I think the Great Depression one was overproduction in factories, I don’t think that was addressed until later on

i hope they’re anticommunists?
but I didn’t think jfk’s claim to fame was that

What do you guys think the curve is? What do you think the raw score for at least a 700?

probably same usual curve… since everyone generally got different questions wrong.

maybe 48 for 700+?

was Jacob Riis the correct answer to whatever question he was in?

I agree with u for the Anti commies and imperialism, but I don’t think i put that for Great Depression. What were the other choices?

That women quote thing was definitely moral, and the following question was definitely the cult of domesticity. It made sense that it would be those answers.

Jenova i put Riis as an answer.

wait… raw score of 48 would mean u’d just have to get around 2/3 of the questions for a 700… that seems too lenient

my bad im confusing with lit >.<
