SAT II: U.S. History Discussion May 2009

walt whitman accepted all churches, but denied them (their truth). So…

What was the answer for the The Organization Man and The Ballad to Davy Crockett one? I just looked at that one and was like. uh…***?

awkturtle, the answer was something like “rejection of too much emphasis on reason”, i dont think it was saying he rejected reason in general. also, how do u use quotes on here? lol

it was land distribution… nw ordinance

greencrayon, it was 1950’s. (The Beat Generation).

i put anticommunist too
but then i wiki-ed them and they were all generals and stuff
which is weird cause i would’ve never pegged nixon as a general

[ quote ] text here [ /quote ]

Remove the spaces, of course.

^Yes, I got that too. 50’s.

organizaiton man, honeymooners and ballad w/e is from 1950s!

I thought “Honeymooners” and was like BABY-BOOM. HELLOOOO. And put 50s.

(And organization man, the typical business, suburban man in the 50s. Hi, levittowns.)

okay then good thing i left it blank then lol

I thought this test was SUPER easy! Yay! Too bad I failed Chem

I also got 1890’s for one of them , not sure which one. What about the graph where it showed the concentration of slaves. i said that it was b/c of rich farm area?

organization man was 1950s
what about the price of slaves and cotton graph
i put that price of slaves rose sharply while price for cotton remained relatively constant

JFK, McCarthy, and Nixon were all decorated WWII people. - It’s true that they all fought, but were they really decorated?

the Iroquios split because of American Revolution, so I have no idea which tribes supported the Brits - I seem to see a lot of people asking this, what were the options?

I think inflation was the one the stock market did not cause, since prices in the depression were deflated - This is probably it, but I put increase investment in something, because it makes no sense, that if people had no faith in the market, that they would invest in anything?

Who did Henry Clay and War Hawks represent?? Those who wanted to drive out the British and claim lands in the west for slavery

and what was the least reason for imperialism? I think it was counteract European influence in other places. Imperialism was simply “for myself” by that time, all of the choices except A were about the US benefiting.

and was it textile or women’s clothing for that one question? - Textile; the textile industry itself is outsourced. And it’s not as if women’s clothing was the only thing outsourced, so it’d be too specific and unresponsive.

rlaghdcks3, Yeah that’s what I said

For the new england colonial decisions or w/e in the 1600s, did u guys put church leaders since the new england colonies’ governments and church were connected and men needed to be from the church in order to have a political voice back then?

As I took the test, the beginning went fairly fast, but as you neared the mid 30’s to 40’s, any one find those hard?

stevenboi27:

idk, that’s what i thought too. I was deciding between town meetings and church leaders.

Nope. Town Meetings.
