SAT II US history

I am currently taking AP US History at school and planning on taking the AP test in May. Would it be smart to go ahead and take the SAT II Subject test in June (after school ends)? Or is the Subject Test VERY different from the AP?

In addition, what are some good review books for the SAT II?

TIA for the help.

Take it in May, it's usually the day after the AP test and therefore you won't have to do any reviewing for it.

So it is basically the same material as the AP?

yes, they are very close!

Material is a little more general. This makes the questions a little easier, but in some instances it made it even harder. For instance, they would ask for general trends, which sometimes can be very debatable. Overall, SAT II is a bit easier.

i thought AP was far easier
there are 90 some questions to do in 60 minutes (i believe?), so you're cramped for time
and i thought some of the questions were just ridiculous, they asked for obscure quotes that you have to pretty much deduce by the context given
they were much more detail-oriented with the SAT II, and there were a few more questions testing art knowledge as well, which i found nagging
i got a 5 on AP US history, and a 790 on the SAT II... i'd still say SAT II was harder

but regardless, take the SAT II in may, it'll be soo much easier not to review twice
