What is important in US History? I just looked at the first chapter of AMSCO US History book, a book recommended by many people, and saw that it has many dates and people and different groups of people. Am I suppose to memorize all those people and dates? I'm self studying US History, hoping to get at least 750. 3 months left for SAT II. Any advice on what to focus on when I read?

You might want to google Collegeboard, US subject test.

Rather than focusing on the dates, just get the general ideas. I self studied too, and I just read the AMSCO once, and the review from the Kaplan SAT II prep book. If you’re that short on time, I suggest at least focusing on the review from the prep book. They’re a lot more concise.
By the way, do A LOT of practice questions. They help a ton.
