SAT II's/ ACT's

Is it true that if I take the SAT’s and ACT’s I do not have to submit my SATII scores?

This applies for Brown, not all schools:

If you take the ACT with Writing, you don't have to take any SAT test (I or II). Brown will accept the ACT with Writing and you won't have to worry about any SAT.

However,
If you want to submit SAT I as your test score, you MUST accompany it with the required number of SAT IIs.

Hope this helps. I know that Yale's policy is the same and that Columbia's is NOT.

very true. when i applied, i called the admin office and they confirmed that. so that's just what i did... took the ACT. then didn't submit SAT II scores. (i did take the SAT b/c other schools i applied to required it)... i did take one SAT II, though... that was before knowing this policy. good luck!

if you take the ACT, can you still submit SATIIs?

Yes, you can still submit SAT IIs if you've only taken the ACT and not the SAT I.

I was just going through Brown's website and I can't find information on how they are going to approach class of '10 as far as the new SAT goes. Will they combine the old and the new together? And how many SAT IIs are required? Could one of these SAT IIs include the Writing SAT II?

Thanks! (link to the website where you get the info will be greatly appreciated!)

I think Brown now requires the ACT writing along with the ACT for 2010 if you don't plan on submitting the SAT II's. You might want to check on that.
