If I'm attempting a sophomore transfer, should I take SAT II's?

while we are on this subject, i am going to transfer as well to try to get into those elite schools that rejected me, i have 800M 600V, 700writing, 630bio, 780 IIc, should i retake the New SAT I? and also take other subjects instead of bio? and retake IIc?

BTW I've never taken SAT IIs

i really doubt the SAT's are necessary. SAT II's are used as an indicator of how well you will perform and those respective subjects or for placement. If you plan on transferring after a year, the school should now be able to guage your potential based on your college GPA...and that's what they do

I'm going to retake the SAT I. Are you saying this is not necessary? I got a 1330, because I didn't do the last two sections (one verbal, one math). Is that high enough for Georgetown, Chicago, and the equivalent?

It depends on how many hours you have accumulated; a 1330 with one year of good grades is sufficient for Georgetown, in my opinion.

However, I could retake and easily get a 1500....how much better will that make me look? Is it worth the money to retake it?I will have roughly 68 credits after my freshman year. 38 received as a freshman, 30 converted high school AP and IB courses.

It depends on your GPA. You must also take into consideration the fact that the old SAT is not being offered.

If you were in my shoes other than get a 4.0, what would you do nspeds?

Due to the contradictory interpretations offered by the ommition of a punctuation mark, it is difficult for me to respond. However, if I am to rely on instinct and interpret the statement in the manner I think you intended it to be, then I would say that your priority should be to get as close to a 4.0 as possible.

whoops, sorry, I meant, "would you retake it?"

I would probably take at least 3 SATIIs... or the ACT

thx, how important are college ecs?

bump..........^^

they're probably slightly more important than your SAT l scores. first its GPA, then other college stuff, then high school stats i think

from what i gathered from reading many, many posts on this board and the old collegeconfidential message board, the essay is the primary factor in distinguishing applicants. True, your GPA must be in the competitive range- and obviously, the higher the better- but that alone will do nothing when applying for the top schools, such as the ivys.
