SAT IIs

I read on CC somewhere that colleges don’t differentiate between a 750+ and an 800. How true is this?

I have 760 World History, 750 IC, and 690 Physics (5 on the AP test, A+s in Honour’s and AP Physics classes). Will this suffice for Wharton or is it weak? I got a 680 on IIC, and took IC and got 750 later. Would this reflect badly on me? I got 4s on Calc AB and Stats AP tests also, if it will make a difference to opinions.

better is better. anyway you slice it.

that help?

ok, i'm goin to bed. really

penguins=:D

That was most constructive 26e :p

either all 800s or you dont get in.

just kidding.

i applied for a math major with a 640 on the math2 (790 on the math1)

maybe thatll help...

its the whole app though, remember that

wow, but you must be having some math related ECs or AMC or AIME scores, right?

Also, is SAT I more ephasised on than SAT II or are they equal in weight? I got crappy scores on 1 (700 WR, 670 CR, 690M)...

whats the average SAT I and SAT II score for Wharton?

the average score is good

wow 26e...that was very helpful. Can't you cut the crap and answer a question? Really...

cut me some slack its so late!
i have no access to that number right now, and even if i did it is too late for me to dig it up

-besides, i'm just bumping your post to get you answers

-and my first answer was completely serious. 750 and 800 are both good. but an 800 is going to look better on your application.

Ok 26e...thanks for bumping that. Anyway, I'm retaking SAT I in Jan so I need to know what scores would be good enough to be "in the range"

oh, well i dont have the stats off hand, but i can tell you that.
from CC, it seems that to be "comfortable" you should hope for a 2200+. needless to say, a perfect score is better, and a 1970 is trouble. but 1500+ old school will let the adcoms look at the rest of your app without dwelling on "why don't the test scores add up."

but what does it matter? are you going to see your score has hit 1500 then stop? just kick it's *** and get the best score you can muster.

you're international?

yeah. im an int'l...did the SAT in 2004 oct and got 660V and 690M, and then this oct and got 700 WR, 670CR and 660M. came as a shocker since I was scoring 800M and 700+ in CR each practice test...

yeah, same thing happened for me and US H SAT II.

so you have: 690 M, 670 CR, 700 W

if enlish isn't your native language that may help you on the CR and W. i would try for 750+ on the math at least, and hopefuly 700+ on CR. but you knew that.

so again: does anyone know SAT ranges for Wharton?

I think they put more weight on SATI, and for SATIIs they only put weight on the ones having to do with your intended major.

And Stetson says theyre giving us (2010) the benefit of the doubt and not really looking at writing scores (i got a 570)

Scores honestly dont look too important this year, if I do say so myself.

I'm hoping Scores don't look too important, cause everything else is awesome for me. I did pretty "bad" on the SAT, but got a sweet 740 in writing.

800M is just luck on many occassions! the math doesn't really test your analytical skills, just test how well you can take multiple dumb questions been thrown at you! and to test if you are still awake after 60 grade 5 math problems! i see no difference between a 700 and 800 in math! (i took SAT I 3 times, math score ranged from 680 to 800) but CR is different, it's a real test! and writing is okay, just do a few prep test!
Math IIc is a joke, get TI-89 (borrow in my case), i was opening the TI calculator 3 min before the test, asking myself "now, how does this thing work?" and the graphing capability really helped! although i didn't do as well as i thought i would, but i didn't retake (780 was okay)
it's all in the essay dudeS! good luck everyone
and calthecops, you took a gap year right?
i remember you were applying for admission last year!
