Thanks so much

chillin,
It would only take a few minutes to go to each of these college websites and find out first hand. Even helpful people can give you the wrong answer as sometimes colleges change their requirements, and this is particularly true given the changes in the SAT recently. Also, sometimes requirements/recommendations are different for particular majors or schools within a college. Really, for information as important as this, it's best to go to a primary source.

Notre Dame DOES NOT require SAT 2's

Thanks soooo much Doris....

Okay.. I looked up all of the ones that I am truly interested in........

None of them require SAT II's but many of them will consider them.......

I am awful at standardized testing........ is it basically an unwritten rule to take them????

I'm really trying to avoid them...but I've heard they are a must... is this true?

yes, it's an unwritten rule

i think some colleges put that to see the motivation that high school students have towards studying on their own and going above what is required, so possibly to separate applicants in terms of that motivation...

if you've been taking a challenging courseload (with APs), then taking the sat ii subjects for the same subjects that you took AP exams in should be really easy.

basically sat iis are another opportunity for you to show them your academic promise and ability, and every opportunity that is given to you should be taken advantage of

wut if I just submit the act and sat...

well there's no substitute for SAT IIs, so it'd be best to just take some. they usually aren't any harder than final exams in those subjects, so with a little review you should get scores that could help your application

remember that when schools say they would consider but do not require SAT IIs, taking them shows that you go above what is expected and would distinguish your app from those of others that didn't bother because "they're not required"
