By how many points does your SAT usually increase the 2nd time you take it?

If I got a 1630 the first time, how much with studying is it expected to increase?

By how many points did you increase the 2nd time you took it?

How have you done on the practice tests you've takeN? And regardless of studying, it usually does increase the second time.

I have got scores around 1750-1950

well the first time i took the SATs i got a 2230
the second time i took them i got a 2350
i actually studied a lot for the first one, but barely any for the second one, and it was more focused

of course i took the first one in march when "all the geniuses take it"
and the second one in may which everyone says is a lot easier

it depends upon how much studying you did for the first test and how much you did before the 2nd. For instance, my first score w/o prep (the foolish bastard i am) i got an 1890. The 2nd time w/ around 30 to 40 hrs of prep over 2 months i got a 2050. Thats 160 points right there.
So, if you didn't study the first time, and you studied the 2nd, it should be a big jump. if you studied for the first one and for the 2nd one, the jump will probably be less, but could still be as high. it all depends on how much you prep you did. but even without prep its likely your overall score will still improve.

Mine dropped by 40 points after my second test. however after my third test (today) I feel I might have improved.

Mine went from a 1990 to a 20...70? Not a huge leap, but it's okay considering there was no prep. I didn't go up in all areas though, so my superscore after 2nd time was better than 2070 (?).
