@4DTransition
Yeap,that was it!Haha.Thanks!

@Eva0607
I only remember putting it as eager.The rest sounds pretty unrealistic.

By the way guys,what was the November 2008 curve like for all the sections?

@4D: Are you thinking of solemn instead of somber? I don’t remember somber being one of the options. o.O

Also, you are right. Alu’s tone was eager. So that’s another question, right? “What was Alu’s tone like?” If yes, then we have these questions for the Uncle’s book passage:

What was Ms Verma’s tone when she said “that’s sad”?
Answer: solemn

What is the relationship between Alu and Ms. V?
Answer: raised by mutual acquaintances

What did Ms. V’s laughter signify in line x?
Answer: relief

How did Alu feel for having found the book?
Answer: overjoyed

Why did Ms. V say that she is too much her father’s daughter?
Answer: book held her captive

Ms V was what more than Alu?
Answer: more composed

Something about Ms V’s dad and what books meant to him
Answer: books were a reliable escape from life’s chaos

What did the analogy in line x explain?
Answer: “quarelling friends” explained father’s attitude

passage in general showed past experiences ✓

The book “smiling at Alu” is an example of what?
Answer: personification of the book

What was Alu’s tone like? (“Who was it? Where is it form?”
Answer: eager
12.
13.

What does “quarelling friends” mean in the passage?
Answer: “quarelling friends” explained father’s attitude

Is that the same option as the one about how it functioned as an analogy?

Also, I too would be interested in the Nov 2008 curve. I can’t find it online anywhere though.

Oh woops. That was supposed to be:
8. What did the analogy explain? Or something like that. Sorry. I’ll edit it in.

Haha me too! I wish I could find it =/

@Eva0607:

I think Alu was rather overjoyed in the question with the attitude because he said that he finally found his lost brother.

Otherwise, I agree with the list

Ah. So the “eager” option was on the same question as the one which had “overjoyed” as an answer? Then I am pretty sure it was “overjoyed”

overjoyed is how he felt when he saw it, like hugging the book to his chest and ms verma saying why you are quite fond of the book

eager is when he was flipping through the pages, and it kept slipping out of his fingers, and he couldn’t seem to get to the page he wanted to or something. another choice in this question was “cautious”

^ so basically, im pretty sure they’re two different questions

@yoursky: OH. That makes sense. Thanks a lot! We have like 2 more unidentified questions from that passage now.

Also, wasn’t there a question about the pebble in the elephant passage? Something along the lines of how did the elephant draw? Or why did it use a pebble? To draw? Or am I just downright confused and my brain is mush right now?

I took SAT in November 2010 and think this one was easier (maybe because I was better prepared this time around). From the list, is not the answer for 2nd question (relationship between Alu and Ms Verma) that Ms Verma and Alu were cousins since it said in the introduction to the excerpt that "Alu was raised by his uncle Bagram or something who was also Ms Verma’s father?

^ this was a long debate that took ages to read through int he november 08 threads @_@

verma states that her father received that book from someone during his college years. that friend signed something inside the book, and through that sign alu sees that friend was his uncle bagram (sp?) so they were raised by mutual acquaintances or something along the lines of that, not that they were related to each other by blood

They were definitely not cousins.That I’m pretty sure of.

Okay, so was the test exactly same as the Nov 2008 one? If it was, collegeboard is lame!

guys what do you think the curves would be ??

Oh no, I’ve got at least -5 in CR and -1 in writing now D:

Does anyone remember the qns for:
2nd Critical Reading section (Section 4 on the test)

Thrive … Antediluvian

Unique

I really don’t rmb them! >.<

@illuminatedx:

“The company was able to [thrive] despite its [antediluvian] computer system”

@illuminatedx
The unique answer I believe is something about tension between two things that has been around for a very long time.And to call it (unique)would be naive and disingenous.

Thanks guys think I got the computer one wrong. I remember one of my choices was antiquated ><
