If anyone remembers any confusing writing questions, lets bring them up and solve. Sorry, my memory really sucks!!

@ al21ii yes the Jan SAT was first used as Nov 2008 SAT.

Don’t you guys find it unjust, given that people who had known - read the previous test were at a advantage as compared to others who have not (like me)??

@al21ii: A little bit, but what are the chances that someone would go through all of the trouble of tracking down discussion threads from 3 years ago and going through 40+ pages of discussion just in the case that the questions might be reused? If nothing I’d say their advantage is deserved for putting in so much time o.O

And even if they did look through old threads,I highly doubt that they would understand the answers as questions cannot be quoted.Besides, the answers discussed aren’t conclusive.

@ al21ii.

People who came to know about the previous tests may be those who have read the threads and remembered certain details or gone to search CC using phrases like “Newtonian physics” and extracted certain key parts from the previous threads into this present one. Unless the person can remember all the details from the threads and have knowledge that its a US test in a non QAS month and has not been reused and also predict accurately the test to be reused and make the difference count, there is hardly any advantage.

I do concede, however, that a test taker in the former context - having read through all possible SAT threads - can identify which is the experimental section. But he or she can be said to be taking a gamble to a certain extent. Unless you are able to foresee collegeboard’s plans, how would you know if the experimental section is now a real section? Not to mention the very fact that there are more than one version of experimental sections so you might be having a wrong guess at the end of the day. For instance, the Newtonian Physics passage was used as experimental for quite a no of tests, and apparently its noted for its difficulty. The fact that its still an experimental goes to show that collegeboard may have mixed feelings over whether to add it as a real section.

Somebody enlighten us with the curve :P?

and i think this test was deadly :S i got -2 in math… -12 in CR and -2 or -3 in writing :S any ideas where that’d be ?

@alyshehata
No such luck.Tried looking on the internet and Nada.Nothing I couldn’t find anything.

@ alyshehata hey u re quite late today… well no threads on the november 2008 sat curve… dun believe all the answers yet because the nov 2008 one had no consolidated test answers unlike some of the various ones…

Other than the uncle’s book, there was one about elephants, and also there was one about poetry.

the curve is deadly…
Math:
54 800
53 760
52 740
51 730
50 720
49 690

Reading:

58:700

@ sahiscope

if u re referring to the various postings tt purportedly give some of the suggested ans, in my opinion, its not yet “consolidated” in that some of the questions have not been discussed extensively among a group who remember most if not all the details… we have abit here n there but no general consensus… n most of us dun exactly recall them well… the nov thread also did not bear any consolidated post tts been debated rigorously

@kinguncaged1 may i ask how did u derive tt from?

Oh COME ON. -1 math is 760? ***

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/605868-nov-sat-curve-little-ridiculous.html?highlight=november+2008+curve

The Reading curve is a little shady but the general consensus is that -1 math is 760.

I have been doing some practice tests and I have seen this. One wrong and you are at 760. cruel.

Okay, wow for the Math section. But could it be possible than this time less people do well on the Math section and therefore a more lenient curve?

what should be for writing? I mean something around 4 wrong, no omits and 8 essay!

The curve for Nov 08 seems brutal! Wondering if the curve will be same…
