SAT Math 2 Challenging Questions

Can anybody explain these questions from the Official Study Guide for Math Subject Tests?
(from practice test 1) Thanks so much!

what value does lnx / x-1 approach as x approaches 1?

what is the period of y= 2tan(3piex + 4)

what shift of graph y=x^2 would result in graph of y= x^2 -2x +k where k is constant greater than 2?

type that function into y1, then go to table and type in numbers close to 1 such as .99999 and 1.0000001. The number that you get in the y section is the answer. Or graph it and find the limit

period for tan is pi/(the coefficient of x) in this case pi/3pi = 1/3

graph y = x^2 and the other function with k being slightly above 2. Look at what you need to do to make those graphs appear as 1.
