Hi I am a rising junior and I am preparing to take the sat this October. I am consistently getting 450+ and sometimes in the 500 range. Are there any sat math prep books that can raise my score

Hi! I’m a rising senior and the math section has been my weakest point (ironic since it’s my best academic subject). So far, I’ve been able to raise my math score about 80 points (only been studying sporadically this summer) by reading the collegeboard’s own book (the big blue one) and using testive.com
Testive is a great site because they have loads of questions in all subjects, video explanations, timers, and daily reminders if you haven’t logged on that day. They also just added an ACT beta so you can try that math section and see what works better for you!
Practice is key, as I’m sure you know, so try and do one practice test every couple weeks to better familiarize yourself with the time limit and question types.

Best of luck! Great job getting started early, I didn’t even know what the SAT was this time last year…

When your doing practice tests or just solving problems make sure you check in which particular problem is hard for you. Last year I got 480 on my real SAT test. I’ve been practicing since then, now I consistently scoreing over 650. Which isn’t great but hey! I improved!

So this is how I improved my score:
- Check the problems you got wrong and know why you got them wrong.
- Do those problems again
- PRACTICE!

Listen after doing several practice tests I’ve learned they give the same maths problems over and over again, just with different numbers and writings. You just need to be aware that is it.

And I heard Grubbers math book is good but I haven’t used it. Although I used Princeton Review cracking the SAT which is decent but not that great.

try to finish all past real sat tests , and i’m sure you will get 650+ , after you finish them try to solve all psats will also help you soo much if you need any help pm me

At your level you might be missing some fundamentals - I’d recommend checking out Khan Academy to see if you need to relearn anything like algebra or geometry.

Yeah, you don’t have the fundamentals. Read the first section of the blue book that explains the math section, and how to approach specific math questions.
