SAT Math score estimate - around 590-610 enough?

I am amazing at writing and reading, got a perfect score on my essay. However for math I'm doing just above average. What is the estimated math score required to get in?

(P.S. I already have leadership, athletics, etc... just wondering about SAT math specifically)

We were told by our MALO they would begin to take a candidate seriously when the score was >600. Again, this depends on what the rest of the app looks like. Honestly, no one looks at SAT writing scores.

Ay, but almost 1/4th of the class that got into west point got in with a math score of 500-599.

Are you a recruited athlete? If not, go study for the math portion of the SAT. =)

Moritsuna - Study for the test and take it as many times as you can. Your goal should be 600 or better, but even if your math score is below 600 don’t give up on getting into USMA. My son got in with a math score below 600 and he is NOT a recruited athlete.

“What is the estimated math score required to get in?”

Moritsuna: A SAT math score of 590-610 is high enough to qualify you academically. What score you need to get an appointment is an entirely different matter, and will depend for the most part on how the strength of your file (whole candidate score) compares to those you are competing with. Some districts are much more competitive than others. Since you do not know how strong your competition is, best advice is always to make your file as strong as you can.

SAT writing scores are not used as part of the whole candidate score at this point but they are being tracked to see what predictive value they may have in the future.

Good luck!
