Hello - I'll be taking the SAT's for the second time in May, and my primary concern is the Math section; in March, I ended up running out of time on the Math (which must sound absurd to many of you, I know) despite the fact that I did in fact know how to do most of it. Now, while this may be a rather vague and possibly pointless question, do any of you guys know the best way to prepare in the next month or so, considering my apparently slow pace? Once again, it's strictly math I'm worried about. Thanks.

i have the same problem

i'm trying intense loads of practice drills taken from real tests (old Red 10 Real SATs, new Blue Official guide, a # of other books) which focus on sat math

problems do get easier with practice, as you find faster ways to approach them.
best of luck in May

I also had the same problem. I used the SAT Victory Book by Cambridge, and it was absolutely terrible; nothing that was in the practice math sections in the prep book were on the actual SAT. DO NOT USE CAMBRIDGE - THEY SUCK! Anyway, I bought Barron's SAT Math Workbook and I also have the PR for the new SAT. I will probably have to re-take the new SAT's in June because I did so bad on the Math section - 18 blank total (even though I thought I did well on writing and verbal). Math (New SAT) was definitely a shock when I saw it on the test; I am still fuming - BURN CAMBRIDGE, BURN!

If you would like, you can try my SAT Operating System for your TI-89 graphing calculator, or the TI-83+ version (which will be available at ticalc.org within the next day or so). The link for the 89 version is:

Programmer1324, I guess your program doesn't work for the TI-89 Titanium...or does it? I uploaded it onto the calculator, but it didnt show up...

Oh most definitely for the Titanium - I use a Titanium and it's the type of calculator that I used to debug the program on! :D

Just be sure that you loaded satmenu() onto your calculator and
copytoh89.zip as well. Unzip copytoh89.zip and transfer the associated program file (the 89 one) to your calculator along with the rest of the contents of the "sat_os.zip" file. Without copytoh89, the program won't work. Also, make sure that you run satmenu() - it is the main program file that initiates the OS.

...ahh sorry but i still can't get it to work. I tried it like 3x, and each time i had to clear the memory on my calculator, lol...the first time i just sent the entire zipped folder. then i tried sending the specific files...theres one thing i cant figure out: where is satmenu()?? is it a program file?? i can't find anywhere...

It's the 4th one down from the README file in the .zip file. Can't miss it. It should be labeled Satmenu.89p

If you still can't find it, I will post and individual copy of the program to my webserver for you to download. BTW, if you did transfer all the .89p files to your calculator, simply type satmenu() on the home screen and hit enter. Also, hit 'catalog' and then F4. Press the key that the letter "S" represents, and it should go right to it, if it is on your calculator.

ok i got it. thanks!!!
