SAt Myth?

Heyz everyone.

I remember awhile back I read a myth about how the Sat's were hardest/easiest (Can't remember which one) at around december. Whats that all about?

Ps: I'm taking in dec lol

Thanks

I heard once its easiest in nov.

i think its a bunch of bs though.

speaking of myths, is it true that if u take it more than 3 times, they average ur scores?

They avg it if u take it twice..or 10 times

WHAT?! are u serious? i thought they took the top scores for each category from all ur sit-in...for example

1 i get 700,700,500

2 i get 800,643,800

3 i get 643, 750, 650

so dont they take the best scores from each category? so it'd be 800,750,800

The average thing is a myth. I remember reading about its invalidity on this board before.

However, be careful w/ the "highest score" policies. Some colleges will take the highest score from each category (M, CR, WS) while others will only take the highest combined score (meaning M + CR and WS if they accept WS) from a single setting. This does not mean they only want you take the test once, though.

I meant they take the highest score from each category..my bad

However they still see every score.

too bad i am not going to take it in nov :(

The average thing is essentially a myth. The CB sets no official policy and lets colleges handle the scores however they see fit. All scores are seen, but most schools use your best (either from a single sitting or from each subject).

The hardest/easiest thing is not even a myth it's just plain wrong. The SAT is a NORMED test. Scores are compared to the same population of students no matter when you take the test. Colleges couldn't use SATs unless they meant the same thing from month to month and year to year.
