SAT or SAT Subject Tests?

Hi. I had signed up for the December SAT Subject Tests; however, I am considering to change it to the SAT w/ Essay ($42 in all to change). My Subject Test Scores are 770 for Physics and 780 for Math 2. I have a 1540 for the SAT. Which one should I retake?

IMO, none of the above, particularly is the 1540 is closer to 770/770, rather than 740/800. But is you are hell-bent on retaking one, I’d retake the SAT. You would get no benefit from a few extra points on the Subject Tests (not that you would for the SAT either, IMO)

Neither one is needed. If anything SAT1 may be more useful for merit aid purposs if getting a higher score, but it may not worth the extra $42. It is up to you if you want to waste half a day and/or some money.

Thank you for replying! The problem is that I have already signed up for the Physics Subject Test (I thought I would do badly on the Nov. test and the registration ended before that test day) and I can can make a call to cancel but I would only get $10 back. I feel like if I payed then I should just take the test.

Btw I got 750 RW/790 M. I also get to send 4 free score reports.

If you have to take, take the SAT I. You could possibly bring your your RW score. Good luck!!

@pianoswim Thank you, but unfortunately I could not change it to the SAT in time. I will just take the Physics again and use the 4 free score reports that come with it

@ACTscienceprep Thanks for the reply! Some require them and some don’t. I will be taking the subject tests though, as I could not change to SAT in time.
