I keep reading about SAT percentile of particular schools. When putting together a potential list from CB, my daughter came up with average SAT scores for each school to make sure she was within range and had choices from safety/match/reach options. But is there a way to find out what the SAT percentile is for school "A" or is that essentially what we are doing?

The Common Data Set for each school lists the 25%ile and 75%ile for scores. That range gives you something like a high probability or low probability level (depending on the selectivity of the college).

Just want to add that even if your score is within the mid 50, it does not mean you will be accepted. The actual admission rate will still depend on the competitiveness of the school. You would just know your score is not the reason for rejection.
