SAT Physics disappointed...

So, I am a prospective engineering applicant, and I accordingly took the math level 2 and physics subject tests. I did fine on the math (770), but on the physics I didn’t do so well (680). I tried my best to self-study and felt like I did everything I could for physics, but my small charter school only offers physics during 9th grade, so that really held me back. My question: will colleges—especially top engineering schools—understand my situation in that I was only offered physics in 9th grade and therefore not be as critical for my physics score?

Do you have time to re-take the Physics subject test? I imagine they won’t be lenient just because you took physics in 9th grade.

What other sciences have you taken? Could you try the chemistry or bio test instead?

@snowfairy137 @baseballyall Thanks for the advice! I can retake it in January (aiming for anything in 700s) for two schools, but for the rest it’s all set. Honestly, I was looking through some acceptance threads, and a lot of the accepted people had scores in the 600s, too, so I don’t think it’s as big of a deal as I think it is.
