I know this question gets asked a lot, but I want to make sure I’m getting the best books for my money. I got a 1940 in May (660 Reading, 680 Math, 600 Writing). I already have the Blue Book, and I was thinking of adding Barron’s SAT Prep Book to my collection (not the 2400 one), as well as The Critical Reader and The Ultimate SAT Grammar guide (by Erica Meltzer). What do you guys think? I want to score somewhere in the 2200s-2300s next October, and im going to be spending most of my time over the summer preparing.
If you can get your hands on the Princeton Review 11 Practice tests go for it. Also try to get the first edition of the Blue Book (I know for sure there’s 2 editions, so check what you have at home). Save those books for the few months before you take it again. Direct Hits vocab book has a lot of great material to work with in terms of sentence completion, but keep in mind that you probably don’t need to memorize that many words to do well for that. The easiest section to improve on is writing, so whatever Barron’s book you have should work for that section. I don’t recommend Barron’s for practice tests, though. I find them to be way too hard.
I would suggest checking the stickier thread
Here is the answer to that question?
