Aiming for 2200- what are the best SAT prep books out there?

Hi everyone! I’m going to be taking the SAT next year, and my goal is to reach a bare minimum of 2200. I took the first practice test in the blue book and these were my scores in each individual section.

Critical Reading:640 Math: 730 Writing: 670 —> 2040

What are the best prep books to use in order to reach my goal? I’ve already read the black book, and although I used its advice, I had trouble raising my 2nd practice test’s SAT score. I’m interested in prep books that provide strategies, provide practice tests, and provide beneficial vocabulary lists. Anything that can help me reach the 2200 is greatly appreciated!

Please comment down your recommendations! Thanks for reading!

Get the SAT Blue Book and use the practice questions.
Get the Barrons and or Princeton for strategies on the SAT. (I’d recommend Barrons)
Get the Barrons SAT Vocabulary List Flash Cards for Vocab practice.

Study Plan:
Learn the strategies from the Barrons SAT Prep Book, SAT Black Book, and use the Barrons SAT Vocab Flash cards to study. Then take practice exams from the SAT Blue Book.

When exactly do you plan to take the SAT? You only have a few more months to take the current version of the SAT. January 2016 is your last chance. Starting March 2016, there will be a new SAT, which is completely different. Do not trust ANY books out on the market right now for the new SAT–there have been no official tests administered, no grading scales created, no real testing with millions of students yet. All the books out so far are scams because all they did was look at the released practice tests and sample questions, then make up their own questions.

If you’re a rising junior, I’d skip the SAT entirely (both current and new one) and focus on the ACT - fewer changes and more tested materials and programs for the ACT.

What would you recommend for the ACT? Like what would be the best way to prepare? I can’t take prep classes but I’ll definitely get some good ACT prep books.

For ACT, I find that the Real Act Prep Book has the most accurate test questions. (Meaning they are the ones you will most likely see on the real test)

Alright, I’ll keep that in mind. How about books regarding strategies and ways to improve my ACT test-taking skills?
