SAT Prep in a Month

This summer Ill have ample time to prepare for SAT(about 45 days). I took Princeton SAT classes and got 1150. As an international student Im not good in english. How can I work hard and boost my score to 1400s. Please guide me. What material to use other than official SAT guide and how to achieve my goal???

Thanks in advance guys!!

I’ve always found sparknotes to be a huge help when it came to the SAT prep, but when it comes down to it, there’s no alternative to going over previous tests. Time yourself and truly understand the reasoning behind each incorrect answer. I know some international students find vocabulary flashcards to be useful but I’d really focus on practice tests

A point may come where it feels like you’ve reached a “cap”(I felt that when I couldn’t for the life of me break a 700 on the SAT), but I can’t stress enough that the cap can be overcome. Good luck and don’t hesitate to take the SAT again if you need to, the second is almost always better than the first.

My friend told me that as I have taken classes from princeton I shouldnt use other resources for tips and strategies as it would lead to confussion. Is this true?? What should be my next step other than taking tests daily?

No, don’t take tests daily.

Use only official materials from college board. There are now eight free practice tets on college board’s website. Print some. Do a section here and there. Don’t time yourself. Get used to reading carefully. Understand what you have read. Read each question carefully, and read the answers carefully. Understanding the reading, the questions and the answers needs to be the first step.

When you finish a section, ask someone to check the answers. Any ones you get wrong, try to correct, so that you learn. There are two main strategies for reading and english. When in doubt about an answer, choose the one that reflects the main idea of what you have read. The other strategy is universal: why is an answer choice wrong?

After several weeks of doing sections untimed, gradually introduce timing again. Always ask someone else to correct if possible so that you can find the correct answer. It’s one of the best ways to learn.
