Can we talk about the essay?

What Essay question did everyone get? I got does the technological progress make a society neglect values such as education and protection of the environment. I used global warming as an example i felt that math was the easiest and reading was average and writing was the most difficult.

not until you they've been graded/you recieve your scores, apparently...

i just came home from taking it. forgot how unbelieveably long the sat is. by the 9th section, i was ready to collaspe and die, and by the 10th i had to read each sentence about five times to grasp the meaning, lol...

I got nervous on the math section which probably lowered my overall math score. I finished the english section so incredibly fast. My essay was about technology. I used the Industrial Revolution and bioethics.

mine was technology too... but somehow i went off tangent to talking about opressive government (1984 by orwell) and the meaning of life and mankind's issues (ishmael by quinn), hahaha... not sure how that went.

math i thought was pretty easy, with the exception of a few problems i ran out of time on...

anyone know the grid in that was gave you f(x) = a^2 + bx + c, the vertex point, and then f(1) = f(9) = 12? something like that

and also the one about red, green and black marbles... answers were like (a) 8 (b) 12 (c) 14 and etc...

i thought critical reading was OKAY for the most part, the passages weren't incredibly boring, some were kinda interesting (only remember the one on morton the businessman and women/michaelangelo/art...) but writing was just bleh, haha... i believe i had writing, cr, writing, all in a row. UGH horrible...

my essay was about oppinions being influenced by our surroundings

You'd think it would be easier to focus on simple short math problems than on a long essay. If someone gives me a normal math test with logarithms to different bases and all that stuff, I can handle it. When you put me in a pressure packed environment and give me little math problems, I just don't do as well.

Yeah, what was up with that essay question? (tech) What kind of literature/novels do they expect us to discuss when you have to talk about that? I just discussed some political issues...I really had no way at all to relate it to my own person experience. Tough essay topic

i thought this test was muchhhhh easier than the april one

for the math question for the one with the parabola was the points were (-2,0) and (5,0) did the highest point have an x value of 1.5

x should equal 1.5 because it's the midpoint between the two roots.

math was so easy no problems there id like to see some critical reading answers so i feel a little more confident about that. some of the writing multiple choices were tricky i thought and essay topic was weird but doable- easier then april but i found myself going off on a tangent when i was trying to write about a book so i made one up. if anyone has any math questions ill be happy to answer them. does anyone know if there were two versions thsi time liek april?

i'm making a chatroom on AIM like they did for the May test so we can discuss without being worried about it here. Chatroom name is "June Sat"

how about the one when it gave the graph and it asked for the reflection of it or sumthin...was it the exact same thing or the reflection about the x axis

Only one I omitted was that reflection one.

No...when u reflect a parabola ove the x-axis all the y values become negative

I bombed the essay. I did too much prewriting and then when the five minute mark came up I was all: blaaaaagh!! I barely got a page in + a little bit. :( I guess I'm too used to the 45 min writing time for AP Eng.

There was this one math section that was ridic. easy. I was able to go back three times and stare at each problem individually. Then there was another math section (I'm hoping its the one not counted) that was signific. harder. I almost didn't finish all the Qs and I guessed on one :x

Edit: I thought the reflection one was 3? ...Er. That was the one I totally guessed on. :( I think I'm wrong.

The f(9) = 1 is x = 3. I actually spent five whole minutes trying to graph the correct parabola in my calculator. Waste of time, but I couldn't remember how to solve it.

um i know this is a stupid question but never use chatrooms i have AIM version 5.9.3861 i was wondering how do i join the chatroom only can figure out how to start one not join one.

ummm, some of these math q's do not sound familiar.....marbles? vertex f(1)=9....

where there 2 tests? or am i just retarded
