Hello Guys .
I am applying to dozen of universities including Stanford , Brown , Upenn , i am applying as an international applicant . The Sat is not provided in my country , though i have taken the reasoning test once ( left the country ) . but i am not satisfied with my scores . now my problem is that many of those mentioned universities require the SAT subject too .and due to certain problems in my country , boys are not allowed to leave the country more than once in every 3 months . I wanted to retake the reasoning test to improve my scores but on the other side SAT subject is required, and for the reason i mentioned, i won't be able to take both Subject test and Sat reasoning test .now in your opinion what should i do ? retake the SAT reasoning again and email those universities that i couldn't take the Subject tests , or take the subject test and hope my Athletic background cover my low scores ? By the way , The Upenn emailed me and said : ' If you have taken SAT reasoning , then we suggest you to take two subject tests ' . they weren't specific about my scores or will i get rejected by those scores or not ? but Harvard , Stanford and Brown universities haven't replied yet . My SAT reasoning Scores : Math : 640 . Reading : 500 , Writing : 520 . What are your suggestion ? which of the mentioned options (Retake the SAT reasoning test OR take the subject tests ) should i choose in order to increase the chance of my admission to those universities?

Scores are too low…near zero shot at Harvard, Stanford, Brown. Stop spinning your wheels is my suggestion.

Your Sat scores are far too low for most highly competitive colleges, and your focus should be raising them . Forget about the ivies and colleges that require Sat 2s. Check the common data sets for average score ranges for each school, your scores should be at least in the average range for a competitive chance if admission

If you are not satisfied with your SAT scores, none of these schools will. Plenty of student got very satisfied scores and are rejected every year.

You should email a new school under the pretense that you have taken any SAT.

Hello everyone ,
thank you for your advices . So I should probably retake the SAT Reasoning test as my scores are super low . And email Universities that due to certain problems in my country and blah blah blah … ! , I wasn’t able to take the Subject tests . btw stanford has Replied and said : The SAT reasoning test is a MUST in your application and without it , it is considered incomplete . but brown and Upenn have replied and said : since you have taken the SAT Reasoning Test we suggest you to take 2 Subject tests . but we all know i will be rejected by these scores anyway so i should aim for a higher SAT Reasoning Score . Right ?
