i'm a junior right now and i took my first sat in november and i got a 1820.
then i studied some more.. and iw ent to sat school.. and like on a practice test.. (idk which company.. collegeboard i think) and i got a 1950.. which is really good for me at least.. and like when i took the march sat i got a 1740.. so i was really upset about that.. of course.
But like i heard that everyone who took it got lower than what they usually got.. and it's known to have been the hardest SAT.. but like of course that not important to colleges.. and i guess i had bad luck? lol
anywayy now i'm debating on whether i should take it again.. i mean i have the whole summer to study.. but should i risk taking it? like i'm just afraid that i'll either get lower.. or i won't beat 1820.. i was so confident that i'd do better on the march one.. and then the result totally killed my confidence.. GOSH i'm ranting now.. please help meeeee thanks so muchh!!! =]

You can't lose hope so soon,

The summer is such a great opportunity for you to up your score. Your lucky you have it to study. I would say look around here on CC, and get the best books for each section. Practice and develop strategies for around two months. Then use the Blue Book (I hope you haven't used it yet) to do practice tests during the last month for the Oct 14 test. Go over all the answers and understand why you got each question right or wrong, Yes! review the ones you got right to grasp the method you used to answer the questions. I would say to mimic actual test conditions on Saturday mornings, so come test day, it's like another practice. You'll be used to it and confident than ever on test day. Remember, everyone can achieve a high score, so please don't lose motivation.

Some books
Blue Book
Grammatix (ebook)
Barron' Workbook for
Critical Reading
Mathematics
Writing
Rocket Review Revolution
Barron's 2400

Just a few of these should do.

You have enough time to improve each section so work at em all.

Good Luck!

"But like i heard that everyone who took it got lower than what they usually got.. and it's known to have been the hardest SAT.. "

It doesn't matter how hard the test is; it's still curved so the distribution stays the same. Study hard and take it a third time.

if i got a 2120 on the SAT, and 31 ACT composite, should i submit my ACT scores to colleges (since i was told i dont have to) or will it hurt me? im not familiar with the ACT so i dont know what colleges are looking for.
i'm looking at schools like possibly upenn, cornell, u virginia, u mich....schools like that
