hey all..
i wanna ask everybody wt wud b the minimum required SAT score to get into a good university.. im talking ivy leagues and other good unis like berkley , caltech n georgia tech??
thanks..

There is not a minimum score per se. Admission is not just about scores, its more holistic approach. Many applicants with perfect or near perfect SAT scores are rejected every year by Ivy's.

I live in the UAE too! Ther's no minimum SAT score, they look at your entire app. You should still have at least 2000 or something for schools like those to be competitive. Most of them get apps from students with very good scores and grades. You still have a chance with a low score, but it will definitely put you at a disadvantage.

ok thanks....
even i live in al-ain!!!

2100 and you fall on the low end of average

huh.. what do u mean??

2000 - acceptable
2100 - good
2200+ - no need to retake (generally)

also, it's good if your scores are pretty balanced. For example, M500 V800 W800 probably won't look as good as M700 V700 W700. Also be wary of the writing section. Schools aren't sure what they're going to do with it yet. Some schools say they aren't even using it, so M700 V650 W800 might be counted as a 1350 and M700 V750 W600 could be counted as 1450.

Bottom line: SATs aren't THAT important. Your transcript is more important, as are essays at some schools. But if you really want to get into a good school, M + V should equal around a 1400, and M+V+W should be around a 2100. Those scores are pretty average for the top schools.

arg i want 750,800,750 >=[

but i know that sats arent as important as the transcript

okay people... thanks a lot...
