SAT score-sending advice

Hi,

I took the SAT for the second time today, and I am fairly certain that I boosted my score past a 2300. However, I am not totally sure that this is the case.

I am applying to Yale and Columbia, and both schools' websites state that the last SAT date they look at is the January test date. Therefore, it seems to me that they would need me to send the score for today's test ASAP. I have already sent them past scores.

My question is this: If I wait until February 14 to get my scores and then send them that day, will it be too late? Do colleges see your scores before you do if you have them automatically sent? I just don't want to send the scores to them blindly, in case I did something really stupid and got a bad score, thus destroying my chances of acceptance.

Thanks,
Dane

Colleges usually get the scores a day before you do, I think. I would personally go ahead and send them. (In fact, I did in a similar situation. 2320 → 2400) People usually do improve their second time around. I’ve not known anybody who had a score that went down.
Your best bet is to actually contact the schools and ask them.
Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply. Congrats on the amazing score too.
