SAT Scores and GPA scores in College Admission

If my high school gpa is 85 and my SAT scores are perfect.
Is my chance in being accepted to an ivy school good?

What is your class rank, if you are not top 10% then that answer is no unless you are a minority or athlete or your parents donated a million to the school. Even then, its difficult. Why do you want to go to that particular athletic conference anyway?

I want to get into Cornell. And my graduating class has 1,500 students so, it's hard to be in the top 10%.

No, an 85 (3.0) will get you rejected from any Ivy, regardless of your SATs. Even if you had a 3.5 GPA and 2400 SAT you'd most likely not get into an Ivy (unless you were URM or a recruited athlete).

let's not exaggerate here Godfatherbob..

Do you know what a % is? It means the number varies as you go from school to school. We're not asking if you are in the "top 10"... which would be tough for you compared to a class of 100... in which case it would be the top 10%. We're asking if youre in the top 10 PERCENT of your school, meaning that if your school has 1500 graduating, you only have to be one of the top 150 students in your class.

You may have a decent shot. I guess it depends on ECs...if they're good and took up a lot of time, they'd understand why your grades may not be top notch. As long as you show you're doing stuff with your time...whether it be studying or ECs.
