@medical aspirant, your sat I is low (most especially the writing). Are you going to retake it? either retake if you want an ivy or aspire for lower tier schools.

SATI

June 2010:
CR:800
Math:760
Writing:760 (770 from Jan)

SAT II
Math:800
USH: 780
Chem: 740
Bio: 690 :(

@Viggy: I applied E.A. to UMich too! :D

^Awesome! When did you get your app in? We should keep in touch because I don’t know many internationals that are applying to UMich.

I got my app in around the 26th of October.

Oh uhm, I’m not an international haha. I live in New Jersey. And I got my app in the exact same day I think.

@medicalaspirant-you retaking the SAT in dec?

Thinking of taking it in Jan if my early app gets rejected
… else will apply to writing friendly schools
like WUSL, MIT and Northwestern

M-800
CR- 680(how do i even improve??)
W-730

Should i retake the SAT??

Are you a '15 applicant? If so, don’t retake.
Have you taken it twice or more? If so, don’t retake.

^Why did you say that a 2015 applicant should’nt retake??

No time, I presume?

He can take it in January…nah blue_box must have meant something else…

More important things to focus on, in a very limited amount of time. Essays, exams, and so forth.
EDIT- And then there’s the time thing, of course. Giving the Jan SAT is iffy.

nah im probably gonna take it in December…I really wanna pull up my Cr score to 750+ though it seems to be impossible…

How about taking the SAT in January? Once you’ve submitted your apps. You’ll have some free time to study for it too.

^Not all colleges accept Jan scores. Plus, there’s no guarantee that the scores will reach on time. You’ll be pushing it close.

^Is that so? Colleges usually recommend taking the SAT (for international students) within Dec, but I don’t remember coming across this.

^Oh no, it’s fine.
For Early, the last acceptable testing date is in Nov. and they wait until the scores come out before opening your application.
Maybe rsaksena’s talking about the possibility of the scores being held back or delayed. Then you would be in a smallish soup. But I think even if the scores come out by 1st week Feb, it should be okay as they accept February ACT testing. :/

Pre boards are in Jan. Are you willing to mess them up?

Pre-boards aren’t considered for admissions you know :P

^ They are - for schools that have a one semester system.
