Hello, I'm an international student and I was wondering if universities ask for top SAT score per test or top SAT score per section.

For example, I got a 640 on my CR section and a 590 on my math section. If I retake the test, and get a 600 on CR and a 640 on math, could I apply with my two best scores per section ( 640 CR and 640 Math on TWO different SATs) or can I only apply with my best total score (600 CR 640 Math).

I dont know if that makes sense or not :P.

most US universities superscore.

Well, the SAT company will send all of your scores at once. It is up to the individual college to determine whether it will use your best single-sitting score or your best superscore (your best individual sections combined).

I agree. I have heard that they only look at the best scores, but in reality they can see them all. For marginal gains, it is probably not worth it to retake the test in my opinion, because they might just look at them and see the lower scores.
