I have finished most of my applications and sent my SAT scores already to the main schools I am applying to. Currently, I have decided to add a few schools to my list and apply last minute. Is now too late to send SAT scores for colleges to get them in time. I know that some schools accept the administration of January SAT, so if I rush my SAT scores that were already taken, will a school, such as UPenn accept them and will I make their deadline???
Many schools will accept scores from the January SAT, so it definitely isn’t too late to send scores that are already in hand. You don’t even need to pay extra for rush reporting - barring a SNAFU by the College Board (and that can happen with rush reporting as well, as we saw after reports for the October SAT were delayed) - your scores will be delivered well before January scores are even available.
There are a small number of schools with early Jan app deadlines that want scores in their hands by the application deadline. Those clearly tell you that on their websites. Otherwise, the scores can arrive after Jan1 and you are fine sending them regular delivery. Many, including UPenn, which you mention, accept through the Jan SAT test, and you need not send rush for any of those.
@Jman1177 don’t stress, read this thoughtful post on “late” scores by @T26E4 (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/19127554/#Comment_19127554).
His name might be cryptic, but his advice is sage
I had this same problem. Also, many of the schools that I asked if I should rush my scores to said that it actually makes the process harder and said to save my money!
