I scored 830 on my SAT! I know that might be the worst thing you ever heard! I don’t know how this happen but I seriously studied for the SAT before taking it! I want to apply for Stanford and U Chicago by next year and I’ve no idea on how to increase my scores before the winter of my senior year! plus I have a good amount of extracurricular and a 4.5 GPA! Challenged myself with honors and AP’s. I’ve arrived here in the U.S. in my sophomore year! What SAT books or ACT would you recommend? Please don’t hesitate to say what you have
First things first, go to the college board website and order a copy of the questions that you missed. It may be that you had a bubbling error or something like that which would be very easy to fix.
What were you getting on practice tests? If you haven’t sat any practice tests, find them online, print them out, and sit for a practice. Figure out whether this 830 was an outlier. Once you’ve done a practice test, write down the questions you missed and look up the explanations online, at Khan Academy or ■■■■■■■. Figure out where you are misunderstanding things.
You might try the ACT, but I wouldn’t sit the ACT without doing a practice test for that first.
For books, I’ve seen a lot of people recommend Erica Meltzer or College Panda, plus the Up Your Score books. But before you spend money on books use one of the free tools available.
Try the ACT! And just do a bunch of practice tests maybe you had a bad day
Omg! thank you both for the feedback, it really means a lot
