SAT Scoreschools-the riddle of the middle 50 percent.

Looking for as much input as possible. One often hears that if you are from middle class America and live in the northeast you have to score far higher than the published "middle ranges" suggest to make a school a match.
Even assuming you are in the top 1-5% of your class and have solid ECS, it seems from a great deal of what you hear that SATS of 1430 do not make you a match at places like Columbia, Brown, Duke and Penn even though you are right in the middle of the range. I would be interested to know if anyone has a guess as to how to calculate the true middle range for non urm, non legacy, non recruited etc. students.

WELL IT PROBABLY DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A MATCH BECAUSE EVERYONE WHO IS ON THEIS WEBSITE IS A GENIUS. yOU DEFINITELY HAVE A CHANCE THOUGH IF THAT 1430 IS OUT OF 1600 OF COURSE LOL

Being in the top 25% makes it a match for the unhooked.
