SAT Subject dilemma: retake/cancel score?

I took the SAT US yesterday but made a bunch of stupid mistakes (e.g. overlooking the word "except"....multiple times.) I'm pretty sure I got something in the 770-790 range.

Problem is, I am considering being a history major and US History is my strongest subject at school. My APUSH teacher has also offered to write a recommendation for me (for college apps), so I assume that she will say many positive things.

However, if my score is not perfect, wouldn't that discredit her recommendation? Would adcoms scoff at my application if they saw that my intended major is history, yet I fail to get an 800? (My reach schools include top LACs and Ivies.)

On practice tests, I have received nothing but 800s (normally a raw score of -2 or -3) so I know I have all the information in my head. The night before the actual test, I got home from a meet at midnight (I normally sleep at 9pm) - so that might've tripped me up a bit.

Should I cancel my score and retake it in June for an 800?

I'm already signed up for June for US History (by mistake), so I've paid the money. I'm just worried that I might forget the information by June :/

a 750+ is fine for the top schools. Don’t take it again because it wouldn’t make a difference.

^what djking said.
