Hi All, please advise me on this -
I want to do something in humanity area, major undecided.
I hope to get into an ivy school.

What subject SAT should I take?
I don't know if I want to do something like English, broadcasting,... whether it'll be good for admission purpose to take subject math? I'm not bad at math. If I work hard I think I can get do well in math. but is it worth the effort? I know my friends who want to do science are all planning to take math. I don't want to do science. Someone suggest literature, history and a FL. I don't know about math.
thx!

It looks like your only choices for subject tests in the humanities would be U.S. History, Literature and a foreign language, as someone already suggested to you. But not all ivies require three subject tests (Harvard does, but Brown only requires two). You probably should look at the admissions requirements on their websites, and go from there.

If math is your choice for the non-humanities type of subject test, it is best if you take the test immediately following the course which covers the material. (This is true for all subject tests.) For example, take the Math II test when you have completed Pre-Calculus.

For the Ivies the cornerstone of a strong high school education includes 4-year of math. If you’re planning to take that kind of load during high school, then you’ll successfully indicate the kind of strength the Ivies are looking for. Ideally you would get good grades in your math courses – no worse than B+. And you might as well take the SAT II math.

I’m pretty confident about my math. I get a lot of help from home on math. I’d have a easy ride if I chose to do science but somehow my interest is different from my parents’.

I really don’t want to take more SATs than what I am required to. so should I just take literature, FL and a history? maybe I can do math AP. I’ll appreciate your advice.
