Which SAT IIs to take? Importance of subject choice??????

Hi, I am deciding which SAT IIs to take and I would really appreciate your help. I am definitely taking US History. Should I take one or two others (for a total of two or three)? Also, do I need to take one subject in the math/science area? I am planning on applying to schools with selectivity on par with Swarthmore, Brown, Dartmouth, etc. Would taking US History and Literature be okay? One last thing, how difficult is Math Level 1? Thank you so much!

If you're applying to those schools, I believe it's best if you take Math IIC (not IC) or SAT II Chem/Bio, and a literature one. Since you're already decided on the USH one, take that too. Good luck! :)

Just look at the policies of the colleges you are considering. If two is required, then take USH and Lit. I sense you are the humanities type so taking those two would be a better fit than taking a science one. I doubt any school for a liberal arts major would require a science. Math Level 1 is redundant, and not accepted at UCs and maybe other places.

Thanks so much you guys!

I am really glad I hadn't signed up for Math IC. Does anyone else know how important it is that I take a Math IIC if I don't plan to major in a science field?

Any input?

I've looked at school websites and they don't specify which SAT IIs to take, but I have heard that you should show your "different talents" by taking both a humanities subject and a math/science subject. Is this true or will I be fine with two humanities?

These are the questions you should ask yourself:

-Are the SAT IIs you are taking required by the school?

If yes:

-Take the ones that are required.
-If you get a choice, take the ones that you can get 700+ on.
-Take as many as you can do good at. (extra 700+ wont hurt you)

If no:

-Take some ones you are really confident with.. The ones you can get 750+s on. That will really impress your college during admission.

That makes sense, thanks variance2004
