I am class fo 2021. I have not taken SAT Subject Tests yet. I have been trying to take Math II and Physics, however, my test center has closed 3 times. The next available date is in November, past early deadlines.
Is it worth it to continue trying to test? Will subject tests improve my chances at all (given that I get high 700s or 800s)? For reference I have a 36 ACT and 5s in pretty much all math and science APs.
It’s not really worth if you already have 4s and 5s in the respective math and science classes. A 5 in AP Calc and a 5 in AP Physics is a lot better than a high 700 or 800 on the math II or physics SAT subject test. If you’re ready to take it and don’t need a lot of time to prep, then you should take it. It can only improve your application.
No. You’ve got the 36, and that looks great. Presumably you have a few strong AP scores and good grades. No college requires subject tests. They aren’t going to add information to your application that isn’t available elsewhere. If the admissions officer wants to know how strong you are in math or physics, she/he can determine that from your grades, the level of classes you took, and your AP scores.
