SAT subject test... issue

Okay, so compared to all you science geniuses on here, my score is super low but try and give advice anyway. I took the subject test the weekend before my AP Chem exam (which I probably scored a 3 or 4 on lol), and I ended up with a 640. I personally was okay with it, because I honestly just suck at chemistry, but I am planning on applying to more selective schools. My major will probably be architecture, and the only reason I took the chem subject test is because they required either chemistry or physics, and I've only taken chemistry.

I just don't know really where to go from here. I plan on retaking the math subject test next November anyway, and maybe an additional test (I also took US history - 740). Should I try and retake chemistry as well? Or just hope that colleges accept the fact that I suck at chemistry and it doesn't really matter for architecture and acknowledge the rest of my application?

100 people with possibly relevant advice has seen this and could have responded.

Bump…

You might want to try asking on the Architecture Majors forum as members there may have a better idea of how important Subject tests are for admission into Arch programs.

Who is “they” that required Chemistry or Physics? If it’s a program you are applying to, and they require it, it seems unlikely they believe it’s not important.

That said, if there’s some reason you think you can do better, then retake. If you’re just kind of hoping it will be better, don’t bother. Really 640 is a perfectly acceptable score.
