! SAT Subject Test Prep Book List*

Have you got optuions in Biology? ex: human biology and general biology
If yes, between what can you choose?

I really need to know, what do you guys recommend for Literature and Math Level 1.. Which books are best for preparing, and which books have the most accurate practice tests?

Math Level 1: Barron's if you want overpreparation. They'll be covering stuff that won't appear on the test, but I guess prepping for that isn't such a bad idea. If you want something more realistic, I'd go with PR.

AP US History by Kaplan but the social studies department in my school wrote it, great book.

Kaplan's SAT 2 Biology is really good.

wow.. I'm surprised no one is recommending SparkNotes.
I'm not sure about math but science (chem, physics) you should go for SparkNotes. Those who say it's too easy for some reason.. well it's NOT easy! I scored lower on every SparkNotes practice tests than on PR tests. Those who say it's not thorough enough..well just check the thickness of Spark and PR Physics (about twice thicker).

Chem- Barrons. good comprehensive review. I like it. But haven't taken the test so not sure how it will work out in the end.

US history- im using Kaplans and i really like it. Its really easy to read and it seems like it gives you just enough information. I really like this one.

People have been pirating movies, music, tv-shows......you name it.

Where in the whole damning internet are the pirated test prep books? =)

Japanese: Barron's (1995)
Chinese: the Long-Win series is good, but I can't find them anymore; there is a new series published by ANCCS that is listed
Korean: There are guides that exist but I am not a student of the language; you can find them on Amazon (I do know that the book "College Korean" does a good job, however, and is one of the standard texts in the US.)

Has anyone used McGraw-Hill, specifically for math IIC?

Princeton Review for MathIIC. The practice tests are exact.

I've got the Kaplan Bio book, and I made a rather unpleasant score the last time around. Now, I'm getting a little mad because it has ONE practice test (well, three, but two are exclusively E or M), and I took that before I took the test, scored it wrong, and...well, I need a bio book with more practice tests (the Kaplan Lit book has at least five, and I love it, but if you can't tell by the username, I'm a bit of a literary type). The rest of the Kaplan book outside the one core test is page upon page of information that gets more than a little overwhelming and doesn't really help me with what is really on the test.

Now, that I'm done rambling, let me restate my point: I need a bio review book with at least three tests.

Please and thanks?

Kaplan is AWESOME for U.S. History. The summaries are concentrated, and the practice tests really did mimic the real test.

Oh, and FYI, don't use AP books for the SAT II's. AP's are more conceptual, SAT II's more fact-based.

i think a mod. should "sticky" this thread.

What do you guys think about these prep books for these tests?

Math2 - Barrons
Physics - PR
Literature - Barrons
World History - Barrons AP + a rigorous AP class

I absolutely recommend Barron's for World History. I used it and I got a 740 despite having VERY lacking history classes in school.

For Math IIC, you have to solve a lt of practice problems. All the prep books except for Barron's and McGraw hill only had two or three practice tests..
:(

Could anyone recommend me the SAT Prep books I should get for the following subjects:

U.S. History (Already have AMSCO and REA AP books)
Physics B (I have the AP 2007 Princeton Review book)
Literature (No review books for this yet)

for US history, there is a little gem out there..

SAT 2 US History for Dummies.

I know. I didn't believe it at first either. But I bought it, read most of it, and loved it. The practice tests were EXTREMELY realistic (several questions actually appeared on the SAT 2).

I got a 770 on the actual SAT 2. Two questions I knew I missed were topics that I had forgotten (I did not finish the review book but those questions were definitely addressed later in the book!).

Trust me this book ROCKS. Especially for those of you who aren't particularly fond of us history. It makes things fun and will definitely help you get a higher score.

Btw, nobody has recommended any prep books for Literature apart from the OP (PrincetonReview)...
