SAT Subject Tests -- excellent score, send or not to schools that profess not to care

For the same reason, we need to limit the number of schools on the list. It may just cost another $100 for the application and score for each school, but it may not be wise spent for some.

Gibby, thank you.

Thanks all for your thoughts. It seems like the best plan is to send the SAT II score to any school that says they will consider it if submitted via their CDS or that lists it as optional via the Common App, as well as any school where he will be competing for non-guaranteed merit scholarships. We obviously don’t want to save $11 at the cost of weakening DS’s application, but at the same time, would rather not spend it to send a score to a school that definitely won’t consider it. And yes, it’s a tiny amount of money in the grand scheme of things, but all those tiny expenses do add up!

^ Sounds like a good plan. Good luck to your son. I just did finish all the score submission today. Just make sure they will all arrive long a couple week before application deadline just in case I need to resubmit anything.
