SAT Subject Tests....hmmm....

OK so my friend got into Engineering.

He did three SAT subject tests, and only wanted to report the Math & Physics (the required ones), because his third subject score sucked.

Now according to score choice, you have to reveal all SAT scores. The policy for SAT I is clear, but SAT Subject is a bit murky. He e-mailed COE and asked about it, and the reply was that while he had to report all SAT I tests, he COULD score choice the subject tests if he wanted to as long as he meets the subject requirements...

He did score choice the subject tests, and based on his acceptance letter I assume nothing happened.

So my point is...e-mail them if you are wondering about score choice. Certain colleges may only opt out of one. When they say score choice they MAY be referring to all tests for that certain subject, not necessarily all subjects ever taken.

Note: don't use my advice as official guidebook. use your conscience. I reported all mine btw =)

I’m pretty sure score choice options apply only to SAT I. I took 4 SATIIs and reported 2.

^ exactly my point. I think as long as you meet the requirements (specified by the chart) you are fine. I mean c’mon - if you apply to engineering and you took math, physics and lit, is COE really going to care if you don’t report your lit?

By the way, it’s not just my friend who did that. Some of my friends who applied to Hotel & ILR did that also.

Bump to make sure?

Shizzle, just e-mail them. I won’t copy&paste my friend’s e-mail obviously - that would expose who he is.

But yes, he took three and only reported two (the required ones) - the rep @ the college said that SAT Is have to be all reported, but subject tests can be score choiced as long as the applicant meets the requirements.
