SAT Subject Tests - Math II

I was wondering what is considered a good or at least an okay score on the Math II test…

I took Math II and Physics, but I did much better on physics than math. I got a 770 on physics but a 620 on math…yikes. I am typically very good at math; I have always done well, and I scored well on ACT and SAT math sections, but for some reason I did poorly on the subject test. I am worried because I am applying to many engineering programs, so I am expected to be very good at math, which I am, but this one test begs to differ.

I am applying to:
University of Maryland
University of Texas at Austin
Texas A&M
University of Southern California
UCLA
Penn State
UPenn
Stanford

Would it still look good to send this score to some of these schools? Or should I tuck this outlier under my hat and forget that it ever happened?

SAT and ACT math are totally different from Math subject test.

Can you take the Math 2 test again in December?

620 in Math 2 is the 20th percentile (in 2014, might be lower by now), which is not very good.

Do you do well in math in school?

Generally a 700+ is considered pretty good on any subject test, so that is something to aim for. However, for Stanford or UPenn, you’ll probably need 750+, just because Math 2 is not considered an extremely challenging subject test.
