I got a 730 on the Math 2 SAT Subject Test. Is this too low for engineering schools in top universities like UPenn or UC Berkeley? I asked my friends and my guidance counselor; they said that my score was good enough. However, the percentile for a 730 is somewhat low (74%), which means I’m going to have tough competition against people with better Math II scores.
Right now, I am studying a Math II study book (Barron’s) in case if I do want to retake it. Even though I am learning a couple of new things, I’m not sure if I could really improve my score a lot. Is it really worth my time and money to retake the test again?
Some things to note: I got a 35 on the Math section for the ACT, I have gotten an A in all Honor math classes throughout high school, I’m going to take BC Calculus and AP Statistics when school starts again, I got a 740 on the Chemistry SAT Subject Test and a 650 on the U.S History (But I’m pretty sure Math 2 matters more when it comes to engineering so whatever), I’m part of the robotics club in my school, and I taught myself how to use programming languages.
