SAT Superscoring question

Son did the following on the SATs:

1st sitting:
690M+750R+680W = 2120

2nd sitting:
800M+720R+700W = 2220

Superscore:
800M+750R+700W = 2250

Question:
Should he submit both scores to get the 30 extra points as a result of superscoring?
I'm inclined to think it's better to forego the 30 points to keep the schools from seeing the sub-700 scores on the first sitting.

Thoughts?

Send both. Most schools do not look at all the scores-plus those 30 pts could be a make or break. I have even heard that most have computer programs that only pull up the superscore. Your son’s guidance adviser should be able to tell you this if you ask him/her. Also, a 30pt drop is not a big deal-it’s like missing a few extra questions.

Not all colleges superscore so you might want to check on that for the particular colleges he’s interested in if that influences what you’ll do.

Send them all to the schools that superscore. There is nothing wrong with taking them more than once (Some schools frown on 4 or 5). Those scores are all fine. You have a smart kid. Congrats. Get him working on those essays!

Some schools don’t honor score choice, so you will have to send both scores to those schools.
